What’s the one item of clothing you have too many of?
Definitely midi skirts it was 20 at the last count. I love their versatility and wear them all year round with espadrilles, trainers and biker boots. They’re feminine without being too girly, easy to walk in, comfy to wear and go with every type of footwear.

What’s missing from your wardrobe?
Jeans (I have never found the right fit) waistcoats (the top of my arms are my least favourite body part) and leopard print (does not suit me!)

Describe your own style
Comfort and versatility are my priorities. If I throw on a knitted co-ord top and tube skirt I can go from a work meeting to the cinema. I like mixing things up so a dress with trainers and extra details like a zip or asymmetric hem on a top. I want to dress for my age but not look it!
🪞
Your fantasy wardrobe
My fantasy wardrobe would be crammed with vintage Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen pieces as I think that they are the greatest fashion designers of all time. Their clothes are works of art. I wouldn’t dare wear them though!
🪞
Any fashion faux pas or regrets?
I regret not buying a silk Stella McCartney top with a horse print on it from a vintage shop (even though it was too small for me) and fashion mistakes are all thankfully confined to my teenage Goth years.
🪞
Who do you think will benefit from a personal stylist?
I want to take away a perceived chore or stress, so literally any woman who needs to navigate a lifestyle change (new job, new mum, house move, weight loss/ gain, menopause, retirement) could benefit from some personal styling advice.
I’d like my clients to feel energised and confident. I will help them to learn how clothes affect their moods, understand their body shape and develop their own sense of personal style. They will become adept at making new outfits from what they already own and make better choices when shopping for new (or pre-loved) items.
🪞
What made you become a personal stylist?
When I was a child I dreamt of being a fashion designer but an EE from needlework teacher Miss Pattern made me rethink that choice! I have always loved clothes and buy every fashion magazine going. As I got older though I realised I was probably spending too much money on clothes and already had a style that I was comfortable with but still got a lot of enjoyment out of my wardrobe. Some people are ace meal planners I’m the same with outfits! A shift in my work priorities recently gave me chance to switch my comms skills and love for clothes into a business and so here we are!

My style advice is
Be yourself and have fun with your clothes. A stylist can teach you the tricks for better dressing but should not impose their own likes and dislikes onto you – ultimately it is down to you.
