Styling Tips

A wedding has got to be one of the most difficult occasions to dress for! You want to be smart but not too formal, you want to be glamourous but not outshine the bride and still look gorgeous 12 hours after you got dressed. So here are my top styling tips on what to wear to a summer wedding:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Check and double check the dress code. If it is not clear from the invite ASK! Formal is black tie and evening dress, Semi formal is suits and cocktail dresses, casual is jackets no tie and pretty summer frocks. You should also see if there is a colour or theme to follow.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Think about the location. What you can get away with on a beach will be drastically different to a register office or luxury hotel so always have a look at the venue.

๐Ÿ‘‰ How traditional is the bride and how well do you know her? Keep the bride happy she is probably off the scale stressed as it is. Covering up your tattoos, taking out your piercings and wearing a more conventional outfit that you would normally wear is a small price to pay for a harmonious day.

๐Ÿ‘‰ย Stop looking for a wedding guest outfit. By opening up to more options you will end up with a beautiful outfit that can be worn again and again.

๐Ÿ‘‰ย An outfit that allows movement for eating, dancing and temperature changes will win hands down.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Opt for natural, breathable fabrics like cotton and silk, especially if the wedding is outdoors or in a warm climate. As much as I love linen the creasing can be awful, especially if youโ€™re there for the full ceremony and reception, so go for a linen mix instead.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Whether you choose a simple satin slip dress, a linen trouser suit or a statement designer piece donโ€™t forget that hiring could give you something extra special for less cost than buying new.
